During the rally, she clapped back at Mrs Jonathan assuring Nigerians not to be afraid of going to jail, as her husband only plans to bring positive change to the country.

Ignore IGP's Unlawful Order To Go Home After Voting- APC Tells voters

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has told Nigerian voters to ignore the unlawful order by the Inspector-General of Police urging them to go home after casting their ballots during the forthcoming elections.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party said Nigerians should not listen to the IGP but rather listen to the INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, who said the electoral law does not state anywhere that voters cannot or should not wait to watch and ensure that their votes are counted.

Retreating Boko Haram leaves mass of throat-slit corpses in Borno town

According to a report by Reuters, soldiers from Niger and Chad who liberated the town of Damasak in Borno from Boko Haram militants discovered the bodies of at least 70 people, many with their throats slit, scattered under a bridge.

In what appeared to be an execution site for the Islamist group, the bodies were strewn beneath the concrete bridge on one of the main roads leading out of the town. At least one was decapitated. The bodies were partially mummified by the dry desert air, while grass has began to grow around the corpses, suggesting that the killings had taken place some time ago.

Black man wrongfully jailed for 39 years to receive $1m after being cleared of murder

A black man who was freed last year after spending 39 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit but was falsely convicted for will receive around $1m as compensation from the state of Ohio. He was one of three men sent to death row in 1975 after being convicted of aggravated murder in the slaying of a businessman outside a corner store in Cleveland.

A House of Representatives candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP,  Miss Oluwametomi Adetokunbo Adisa, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for allegedly obtaining the sum of N142, 029,000 (One Hundred and Forty- Two Million, Twenty- Nine Thousand Naira only) from one businessman, Alhaji Isa Bello, by false pretence.

Boko Haram members kill their wives as they escape from Bama

Many of the Internally Displaced Persons who fled to Maiduguri after the town of Bama was recaptured from Boko Haram members last week have recounted how the sect members killed their wives before they escaped the town.

According to what they said, the militants decided to kill their wives after getting word that troops were advancing to recapture Bama, because they didn't want the women to remarry 'unbelievers'

A man gets shot in the chest and you won't believe what he did first before getting help

20 year-old Isaac Martinez was shot in the chest by the alleged Mesa shooter in Arizona, after he refused to give up the keys to his car. Instead of immediately calling for help, Martinez took a selfie of his bullet wound and posted it to social sharing site Snapchat

When the suspected shooter, Ryan Giroux, approached Martinez demanding the keys to his car, he refused and Giroux fired at him.

For anyone who didn’t get enough detail from the photos, Martinez gave his 1,200 Facebook friends a point-by-point account of how the shooting went down:

“He (the suspect) came in and demanded my keys for a getaway car. Of course i said no, and next was him pulling out a gun and cocking it. Soon as i saw it i started stepping back. And yelled for everyone to step back and get down.
Next thing i knew i was hitting the ground, got up as fast as i fell, and ran out the back exit. At the same time the assailant had started taking off in my chef instructors [sic] car. When i saw he had gone. I noticed the cops and fire trucks down the street and went there.”

He followed up the picture with an update of how he was doing:

“So im home and well! I have no complicated injuries and should heal fine,” Martinez’s Facebook posts says. “I had a bullet hit me from behind and go through my shoulder and out my coller area. Any higher or lower it coulda hit a artery, or shatter my shoulder blade. It was a miracle hit.”
