National Air Traffic Controllers suspend strike
The 1 day old strike by the National Association of Air Traffic
Controllers has been suspended. The General Manager, Corporate
Communications, of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN),
Yakubu Dati, told AFP that the strike was a warning strike and that
normal flights have commenced.
“The strike was a warning strike. Normal flights have now resumed,” he saidMeanwhile the striking air workers say they'll embark on another strike by April 20 if their demands of better pay and working conditions are not met.
20 die from Cholera outbreak in Ebonyi state
20 people have been confirmed dead from a Cholera outbreak in Ebonyi
state. The state Director, Public Health and Disease Control, in the
Ministry of Health, Dr Chris Achi, who made this known to newsmen in
Abakaliki, Ebonyi state, said seven local government areas namely
Ohaukwu, Izzi, Ezza North, Ishielu, Ebonyi, Abakaliki and Ohaozara have
recorded the highest number of cases.
Dr Ashi said one student of the Ebonyi State University has died from the epidemic while 9 of them are in the hospital after contracting the disease.
15 students of the Girls High School, Azuinyiokwu were also affected by the disease and were rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, where they were treated and discharged.

Malawi, Congo, bar South Africans from entering their country
The Malawian and Congolese government have reportedly stopped
all South Africans from entering their country following the recent
Xenophobic attacks where a few of their citizens were killed and their
businesses destroyed.
The Malawian government has also allegedly thrown South African ambassador out of their country. There are also reports that Mozambican government has barred all trucks from South Africa from entering into their country.

MC Galaxy attacked at Shizzi's studio by Davido and his driver
An incident happened 2 days that a few industry people have called my
attention to and want it public so it will not repeat itself. Sekem
crooner MC Galaxy was attacked and badly injured on Wednesday night
April 15th at producer Shizzi's studio in Lekki. According to a reliable
industry source, MC Galaxy, Davido (they have collaborated before)
B-Red, Shizzi, Davido's driver, a guy named Lati and other HKN members
were at Shizzi's studio working and laughing when suddenly things turned
ugly.
According to someone who witnessed the beat down, trouble started after MC Galaxy told B-Red that he (Galaxy) was more popular than him (B-Red). B-Red didn't agree and they went back and forth. Then an HKN Gang member, who is a Ghanaian artist, told MC Galaxy that he was not funny as a comedian. Yesterday, we heard about a strange illness in a community in Ondo state
that has killed at least people who woke up blind, with headache,
rashes on their bodies and died 24 hours later.
According to new reports, it's not a medical condition. The state commissioner for Information and Strategy said the illness and sudden death is connected to an exhumed corpse in the community. He said people who've died so far were those who had contact with the people who exhumed the corpse.

monthly sanitation exercise is still in force. According to a post on
their Facebook page, a federal high court
today granted a stay of execution on the March 16th
High court verdict nullifying the restriction of movement during
environmental sanitation exercise in the state. This implies that until
the appeal by the state govt is heard, the
nullification of restriction of movement cannot be enforced. So stay at home, people! :-)
