Stop insulting the military - IBB tells pro-Jonathan campaign groups

Former Military leader, Gen Ibrahim Babangida has called on pro-Jonathan campaign groups to desist from insulting the military in any of their campaign documentaries. Gen Babangida gave the charge in a statement he signed and released yesterday March 25th. Read statement below...
"In clear attempts to whip up support for President Goodluck Jonathan, certain persons, groups and individuals have embarked on several campaigns of calumny against former military Heads of State and presidents who have had the opportunity to govern this country. Of particular reference is a one-hour documentary aired on Silverbird Television on Tuesday night; 24th March, 2015 that deliberately impugned the integrity of Generals Olusegun Obasanjo, Muhammadu Buhari, my humble self; Ibrahim Babangida, the late Sani Abacha, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and T.Y. Danjuma; all of whom have had the privilege of presiding over the affairs of this great country at various levels.

Mrs Jonathan in control of the police in Rivers state – Gov. Amaechi

The Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi says First Lady Patience Jonathan is in control of the police in Rivers state and that the police force has been helpless and ineffective in discharging its duties in the state because of this.

Amaechi made the allegation while receiving the special representatives of the UN Secretary-General led by Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas in his office in Rivers state yesterday March 25th.

One of the pilots of doomed Germanwings flight was locked out of cockpit before crash

According new reports based on evidence gathered so far by crash investigators, one of the two pilots flying the ill-fated Germanwings flight was locked out of the cockpit before the aircraft crashed into a remote region of the French Alps on Tuesday March 24th. Investigators said evidence taken from the cockpit voice recorder indicated that one pilot desperately tried to smash down the cockpit door after first knocking lightly on the door and not getting an answer.

This indicates that just one of the two pilots on board was flying the plane - and that the second one became panicked after he was unable to get back into the cockpit. Read full story after the cut...

Multiple sources are saying there is a riot going on currently in Oshodi. Commercial buses heading to Oshodi from Apapa  are said to be turning at Ladipo bustop. Some say they can hear gunshots. No one knows what the cause of the crisis is. Military men are said to have arrived in the area demanding all passersby to raise their hands as they walk through the road.

Murdered STV staff Aishat Mustapha laid to rest

The remains of Aishat Noble-Mustapha, a staff of Silverbird group who was murdered close to her Ogudu residence by yet to be identified person/s on Saturday March 14th was buried yesterday March 25th.

Family and friends gathered at the Atan cemetery in Yaba, Lagos to bid her farewell. Meanwhile the autopsy conducted on her corpse showed that she was not pregnant as at the time of her death and that she died from internal bleeding. The police say despite her burial, investigations into her death will still continue.

Juliet Ibrahim reveals her most loved possession

 
Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim says her most loved possession is her lipstick. She revealed this while on #PriceCheckRadioShow hosted by comedienne, Chigul. According to her, she feels incomplete without a touch of lipstick to her make up, “I’m a make up person and I can’t do without my make up especially my lipstick” she says.
